2025 - The Genesis GV70 Advanced has been awarded 2025 Drive
Car of the Year Best Medium SUV under $80k.
2025 Drive Car of the Year saw GV70 elevate itself
above more than a dozen contenders, including last year’s winner the Lexus NX, to
triumph in the Medium SUV under $80k category.
"What makes the Genesis truly special is that
it approaches the accessible luxury-car brief differently,” said Drive.com.au.

“It aims high, borrowing design elements from ultra-luxury brands like Bentley, delivering an impeccable experience from the showroom to the road."
GV70 also drew praise for its stunning and
beautifully executed interior and for delivering ‘modern luxury,
done differently’ in the form of ownership benefits such as its complimentary five
years’ servicing.
“Genesis
Motors Australia is delighted to accept the 2025 Drive Car of the Year Best
Medium SUV under $80k award for our progressive and dynamic GV70 Advanced,”
said Head of Genesis Motors Australia, Justin Douglass.
“We are thrilled that the prestigious Drive Car of
the Year awards have recognised the design-driven GV70, which perfectly
encapsulates the Genesis brand with its combination of performance, opulence,
safety and technology,” he said.

The recently enhanced $78,500 (MLP) Genesis
GV70 Advanced 2.5T AWD impressed with its refined and potent 224kW, 422Nm 2.5-litre
turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, impeccable ride comfort, extensive equipment,
and expansive safety suite.
2025 Drive Car of the Year saw more than 200 models
considered for the awards throughout 2024, with finalists subjected to a grueling test program.
The Drive judges assess each vehicle against eight
key criteria; best exterior, best interior, engine performance, fuel economy,
safety feature, innovation, and choice of best dream car and recreational
vehicle.
Now in its 20th year, the Drive Car of
the Year awards recognise 19 winning models across categories aligned with the
preferences of Australian new-car buyers.
Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric models released
or significantly updated in the 2024 calendar year, with a manufacturer’s list
price below $150k, were eligible for the 2025 Drive Car of the Year awards.
